Rachel rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Quinn, when you realise that the Cheerios aren't all you have going for you? Were any of your cheerleading 'friends' there for you while you were pregnant? Was anyone other than Glee club there for you last year? I don't seem to remember anyone else sticking up for you. I also don't think there would anyone else willing to give that horrible Jacob Ben Israel their panties in an effort to kill that story about you. Just thought I'd point that out," she said indignantly. She had tried so hard to prove to Quinn that Glee was a place where she did fit in. Sure, the Cheerios may have been better for image, but Glee club was Glee club was definitely better for yourself, but Rachel didn't know how she could make Quinn see that.

Deep down Quinn knew that Rachel was right. Everyone on the Cheerios squad had pretty much abandoned her, well aside from Santana and Brittany who were in Glee Club, and she really learned a lesson with finding the people you can rely on and trust. Now though, she wasn't sure what to really do. "I know, you're right," she said softly. "Though, this is probably one of the few times you'll ever really hear me say that. But even if I started putting focus on music, where will that get me?" she asked. "I mean, you've got the whole Broadway thing going for you, whereas I've got nothing. I'm destined to just be stuck in Lima, which is why the title of Cheerios captain and potential prom queen are the only things I have to look forward to."

Rachel rocked back her heels. She had honestly expected to be slapped, because she really didn't think Quinn would appreciate being spoken to like that. "That's the problem with everyone here. You all think you're trapped here, and then make fun of me because I want things too badly, but in truth that's what going to get me out of here. And you can too Quinn. You just have to want it."

She leaned against the wall row of lockers behind her, mulling over what Rachel said for a moment. The brunette had been right in that if she wanted to do something other than cheer, she really just had to have a passion and energy for it. Perhaps she could shift her focus. Was it worth being kicked off of the cheerios? Maybe. She would undoubtedly be happier if she focused on something she actually loved. "Thank you Rachel," she said softly. "I don't know how you can possibly be nice to me after all I've said and done to you."

Rachel's eyebrows crinkled in confusion. She was having a strange week. First, Santana opens up to her and talks with her about feelings, and then Quinn is thanking her for advice she apparently gives. Everything was upside down and topsy turvy. She said uncertainly, "You're welcome," and then she shrugged slightly at Quinn's last comment. "I know what it's like to be bullied and feel awful about yourself, even when you've haven't truly done anything wrong. I wouldn't wish that feeling on my worst enemy," she said quietly.

Quinn must be going through some massive emotional changes, for she's been getting along with Rachel and talking to Puck. Quite different from how the show is. One thing was for sure though, she really didn't think she deserved Rachel's kindness. It sort of only made her even more jealous of the brunette, for forgiveness was a term that was rather difficult for Quinn at times. "And that's what makes you a stronger person. It makes you better than more than half the kids here at McKinley." Wow. Quinn needs to stop dropping compliments. This is getting weird.

Rachel looked more confused than ever. Why was Quinn complimenting her? Nothing made sense, and Rachel wondered if she had slipped and hit her head while dancing or something. No of course not, she thought. I'm too good at dancing to fall. So why was everything suddenly so weird? "Do you really mean that?" Rachel asked softly, unable to meet Quinn's eyes.

She watched Rachel for a moment, suddenly feeling guilty for making the situation rather awkward. Now the Brunette couldn't even look at her and that was never what she had intended. "I do," she replied, shrugging her shoulders, even though Rachel couldn't see her. "I think deep down that you know all of that already though, even without me telling you."

"Maybe I do," Rachel mumbled. "But it's not exactly something I hear every day. Especially not from people like--" Rachel waved her hand at Quinn in an attempt to get across what she meant, "--you. I wouldn't expect to hear that from you." Rachel finally looked Quinn in the eye and clutched her books to her chest as she tried to figure out what was going through the cheerleader's head.

"People like me?" Quinn repeated, looking at Rachel with a small sense of amusement. "Other than the popularity status, I'm really nothing." She was quiet for a moment before saying, "I'm sorry for calling you some pretty nasty things in the past. Man hands...RuPaul...Treasure Trail...Stubbles..." she broke off with an apologetic look, realizing that repeating them probably wasn't the nicest. "Sorry," she said softly.

Rachel was definitely more than confused by this point. First they were not arguing, then there were compliments and then even apologies? Maybe they were in Australia. Everything was upside down there. "Do you want something from me? Because I'd be more than happy to help. All you have to do is ask. There is nothing to be embarrassed about," Rachel said, very seriously. In her mind, those were the only two things that made sense. Either Quinn Fabray wanted something, or they had been transported to Australia and all the blood rushed to everyone's head so that they couldn't think straight. Because they were upside down.

Quinn's expression quickly turned to confusion. "Wait, what?" she asked. Why would she want anything? "No," she said shaking. "I just, I've been going through a lot of realization lately," she said, once again toying with the edge of her binder. Perhaps she had realized that after her talk with Puck, things were going to be changing quite a lot. There were more important things than putting other people down, especially since she would probably become isolated once more. "I know, this whole thing is rather weird," she said, giving Rachel a small smile.

"It is," Rachel agreed shakily. She paused a moment to see if Quinn would elaborate on her realization, but since nothing seemed forthcoming Rachel didn't push and instead said, "Thank you. For apologising. It means a lot to me." She smiled tentatively back and paused again, lost in thoughts. She wasn't sure what she should make of Quinn's apology. It did mean a lot, but how long could that last? Should she try to make the most of it? "So...what does this mean, exactly?" Rachel asked slowly. "Are we going to try and be fri...endly acquaintances?" She had about to say "friends" but she didn't want to overstep any boundaries, and really friendly acquaintances would be better than enemies.

She nodded when Rachel thanked her, for she was suddenly aware of how much niceness there was in the conversation. Compared to how the two of them used to be, this was quite the change in attitudes. Well, perhaps it was more of a big change for Quinn. Rachel had really never done anything rude to her. She pondered for a moment what it all mean before replying, "I suppose so. That is, if you think you can look past all the bitchy things I've done," she said with a small grin. Who knew what was going on with their relationship, but perhaps one day they could even become friends. What a crazy idea.

Whoa. That is a crazy idea. Quinn and Rachel. Friends. And yes I do mean friends like real friends get your minds out of the gutter kthanxbai. Rachel nodded slowly. "As long as you could forgive me for how selfish I've been," she countered. "I know that my behaviour right before Sectionals could not have warmed me to you." Looking back, she realised that was a stupid move on her part. Especially since I helped her win that competition in the first place," she added silently.

For once your sister was not thinking with her mind in the gutter. SHEESH. Quinn looked at Rachel curiously for a moment before shrugging slightly. "I think we're all quite used to your behaviour. You just know what you want and go for it. Sure, it's rather annoying at time, but I there's really nothing that wrong with your sense of determination," she replied.

Well with you it's hard to know. Rachel nodded and smiled slightly. Even when complimenting each other they still couldn't help but throw in an insult. Some things just might never change. "So we're good?" she asks, just to be sure, and she shifts her books in her arms and sticks out a hopefully hand for Quinn to shake.

"Yeah, we're good," she replied, sticking her own hand out and shaking Rachel's. It was still odd, the two of them getting along. Perhaps though it could actually be the start to something, even if they only just managed to get along. Once she released Rachel's hand, she glanced into the classroom and noticed that it was quite empty. "I suppose third period ended without us even noticing. We could probably head in," she said.

Rachel glanced into the room as Quinn did and laughed slightly when she noticed the empty room. Time flies when you're making nice with your worst enemy. "Probably," she agreed. She pulled the door open and as she did she added, "I'm really glad we've worked something out Quinn. It's nice to know that you don't hate me as much as I thought you did."

Quinn walked towards the door, pausing when Rachel stopped to open the door. "Me too," she replied softly, a small smile on her lips. Though it had been unexpected and planned, it was nice that they were able to work through some of their issues with each other. "I definitely don't hate you," she added, letting out a light laugh. "There's a huge difference between hate and annoyance."

Rachel smiled her first real smile of the entire conversation. She didn't even care if she was just called annoying--she wasn't hated by Quinn and that was something to feel accomplished of. Maybe she wasn't entirely unbearable. "Thanks, then. I think. I don't hate you either."

Quinn calling Rachel annoying is just a minor insult, which is quite impressive if that's the only mean things she's said. "Well, that's good then," she said, a smile on her face as well. The whole situation was almost too bizarre to handle, but it was nice that they worked through some of their differences. Err, now Rachel needs to go through the door, since she's holding it. Quinn wouldn't just like, walk on through. It's not a date. *blinks*

Nevertheless, Rachel walked through the door into the room. She sat at her usual table as the rest of the class began to trickle in.

Sam had bolted from the guidance office in such a state, a rush of emotions swept before him as he made his way down the hall to his locker. He glared at the happy couple that were too busy kiss each others noses to even bother acknowledging Sams existence. It was if the world was taunting him that he had practically just broken up with his girl friend and now was single and lonely. He busted his locker open, unsure of what he was looking for. A text book? A pencil? A comb? His gaze slowly shifted to the pictures that were displayed on his locker door of him and Quinn at sectionals and just a collage of lovey-dovey shit that he had put together when they were dating. Now that they weren't was he obligated to go through some burning picture ritual like in that Shania Twain song? As she heaved a sigh and slammed his locker he wondered if it were Taylor Swift? It didn't even matter anymore, did it? Feeling nothing but pity for himself, he crushed his back against the locker and slid down until he remained on the ground. Sam put his face in his hands and began to run his fingers through his hair. You really fucked up, big time...Sammy...
