Public Places Empty Public Places

So if there are already a bunch of people at a place (Breadstix or somewhere) and they're having this one big storyline thing going on, can you just walk in there and start your own storyline that has absolutely nothing to do with theirs? Do you have to acknowledge them? Is it even okay to go in?

Good question! It's hard to give a definite answer, as each scene is different and with different people. As a general rule, I would say it's alright, but with so many people using a thread, it tends to get confusing, even for one scene. So use your own judgment. However, for Breadstix we have a separate room, so you are certainly welcome to use that. Hope that answers your question!
